BD Nano vs NovoFine Plus Price Comparison: Cost Per Needle and Best Value

If you're doing a BD Nano vs NovoFine Plus price comparison, you're probably already sold on a short, thin 32G 4mm pen needle and just want to know which box gives you the most for your money. Both are premium, widely used brands, and on paper they look almost identical. The real difference shows up when you look at cost per needle, pack sizes, and how many injections you give each month.

BD Nano vs NovoFine Plus: The Quick Answer

At Zahrun, a single 100-count box of either brand costs about the same, roughly $0.70 per needle. The gap opens up when you buy in bulk: NovoFine Plus is available in 2-box and 3-box value packs that bring the per-needle cost down, while BD Nano is sold as a single 100-count box. If you inject daily or more often, the NovoFine Plus value packs are usually the lower-cost option. If you specifically prefer the BD Nano feel, its box price is very competitive with a single NovoFine Plus box.

Price Per Needle: Side-by-Side Comparison

Here's how the current Zahrun prices break down (prices at the time of writing and may change; always check the product page):

• BD Nano 2nd Gen 32G 4mm, 100 count: $69.97, about $0.70 per needle
• NovoFine Plus 32G 4mm, 100 count: $69.99, about $0.70 per needle
• NovoFine Plus 32G 4mm, 200 count (2-box pack): $129.99, about $0.65 per needle
• NovoFine Plus 32G 4mm, 300 count (3-box pack): $169.99, about $0.57 per needle

You can compare both side by side on the BD Nano 2nd Gen 32G 4mm 100-count page and the NovoFine Plus 32G 4mm 100-count box page.

What the Price Difference Means Over a Year

Small per-needle differences add up when you use a fresh needle for every injection, which is the standard recommendation.

• One injection a day (about 365 needles a year): roughly $255 a year buying single BD Nano boxes, versus roughly $207 a year buying NovoFine Plus 3-box packs.
• Four injections a day (about 1,460 needles a year): the gap grows to around $190 a year in favor of the NovoFine Plus 3-box packs.
• Once-weekly GLP-1 pens (about 52 needles a year): one 100-count box of either brand covers well over a year, so the box price matters more than bulk savings. Check the expiration date on the box so you use them before they expire.

Beyond Price: How the Two Compare

Both are 32G (very thin) and 4mm (the shortest common length), a size that many diabetes educators consider suitable for most adults. Both brands are designed to fit most major US disposable insulin and GLP-1 pens, including the FlexPen, FlexTouch, KwikPen, and SoloStar families. Comfort is personal: some people prefer one brand's feel over the other, and small differences in tip and hub design can matter to you.
