Diabetes Test Strips
Blood glucose test strips work with your meter to give a fast, accurate reading from a small blood sample. Zahrun stocks genuine, in-date test strips compatible with major meter brands, shipped quickly and discreetly across the U.S.
How Test Strips Work
- Get a sample. Use a lancing device and a fresh lancet to obtain a small drop of blood.
- Apply the blood. Touch the drop to the strip's sample area with the strip inserted in your meter.
- Read the result. The meter measures the glucose in the sample and displays your reading, typically within a few seconds.
Choosing the Right Test Strips
- Meter compatibility: test strips are not interchangeable between brands — always match strips to your specific meter.
- Expiration date: expired strips can give inaccurate readings. Check the date on the vial, and note many strips should be used within a set period after opening.
- Storage: keep strips in their original sealed vial in a cool, dry place. Heat and humidity affect accuracy.
- Sample size: different strips need different blood volumes — smaller sample sizes can mean more comfortable testing.
